so the other day me and my family went out for a little photo shoot uh just to get like a christmas photo and where i live in ashford there's uh this big present decoration so i wanted to do a photo shoot there we went out as it was starting to go dark with my camera and a couple of flashes and decided to do a little family photo shoot with me rachel and our boys logan and parker so i wanted to show you some of the photos before editing and the editing process so some photos so i've been through and called them down because a lot of them are quite similar and instead of editing all the photos i've selected the ones that i want to edit these are all shot in raw on my canon 80d what i'll do so i'll put the information on the screen so you can see how i'm shooting so i shot at 100 of a second at f4 iso 400 see the lens and the camera body that i used was the canon 80d
so yeah that was a quick simple edit nice little nighttime photo shoot with the flashes yeah and you've got a nice little gift to give to grandparents and family members of us and i've got a few that i can print off for myself so fantastic and that's it see you later

hi everyone ben here from ben bryant film and photography and today we're talking about how i changed my banner from this to this i was laying in bed trying to get to sleep the other night and i was thinking about what i can create for my youtube channel obviously i have been studying and reading and finding out as much as i can to help me grow this as a channel and one thing that comes up over and over again is things like branding and how important it is to to create a brand whether it be a personal brand or a business brand so i was laying there thinking what can i do to help change the perspective of what my channel is what i had on there before was an image from a wedding that i shot where it was the bridesmaid flower girl running to one of the young ushers page boys it was a lovely photo i i'm happy with the photo but i felt for where i want my business to be heading having just a wedding photo on there is kind of making me stuck in that wedding market so i wanted to come up with a design that would a be interesting to look at b be a challenge for me to achieve and see i don't know i said for point a and c b be a brand that i can share across all my social medias and websites so that was my goal that i had in mind so this is this process that i done to create my final image i started off with a concept in mind thinking about what sort of things i like what inspired me and i'm a big fan of the marvel films i really like the idea of how in infinity war where they turned into ash and kind of disappeared off and i really thought that that'd be an interesting thing to incorporate so i i drew a design which kind of popped into my head with that kind of imagery so it'll have me off to one side and then the kind of ash cracking effect or smoky effect going off kind of having something here so i drew cameras but i'm sure as you see my design changed a little bit from that once i got my concept in mind of what i wanted to achieve i then had the task of getting an image to use so i didn't have any photos of myself so i then went ahead and started doing a self-portrait photo shoot so much to my wife dismay i decided to dismantle our living room move all the furniture out the way set up a little studio in my living room and then done some shots um i started off in my waistcoat shirt and time i thought i'd wear for a wedding but after a while i was feeling a bit uptight from it so i thought i'd have a bit of a change i went with uh one of my t-shirts which i feel very comfortable in feel a bit more like myself and wasn't as uncomfortable and took a few more shots once i've done that i then went into lightroom to get the shots and go through them decide to go through the photos see what they look like give a quick edit in lightroom and then take them over to photoshop to create an image i decided to go for a smoky look more than a dusty look mentally felt better in my opinion let me know what your thoughts are when you see the image so yeah i went into photoshop i started going on just kind of like my my head image feel about maybe splitting it so i was in my smart outfit and my casual outfit kind of splitting down the middle neither of them all was really feeling um i then looked at my images again and saw one with my camera and i thought that was a nice image well i drew these cameras on this design i wasn't set on them being what was there it was just an idea but i knew i wanted something so obviously being photography and filmmaking i thought a camera would be a good idea but then i thought that's just again probably could just be fitting me into the box of just photography so i thought i know i used the wording instead photography filmmaking and editing instead of trying to be slob limit subliminal messaging or just be direct and forward about what i am doing on my channel on my social medias i am doing photography filmmaking and editing and that's it that's the idea and this is the final result i'm happy with this result a good start for my branding um probably evolve and change over time i'm sure it will but for now i i am happy with the image that i created it was a challenge as in trying to feel relaxed in front of the camera was difficult when i got changed out the suit it was a lot more relaxed i felt a lot more like myself probably something i'll take away from it is don't just settle for things straight away take my time become more comfortable with it and push forward um i think i'll do a few more photo shoots where i am kind of doing self-portrait shoots so yeah that's how i got to my final image for my banners which will be going on all my social medias and i will be incorporating it on my website as well if you like this video please give it a thumbs up leave a comment subscribe to the channel if you aren't already and ring the bell for any notifications and i look forward to seeing you in the next video you
